Openhab tinkerforge question

I have a tinker forge dc brick , but I need to have it in two states , forward and reverse based on a switch.

I can set it up in the openhab config but im not sure how to setup a second instance with a reverse velocity.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Hi excal2,

I think you need two entries for the brick_dc in the openhab.cfg and items configuration. Furthermore you need two switches, one to switch on the forward configuration and one to switch on the reverse configuration of the brick.

I've planned some enhanced support for brick_dc, but unfortunately this will take some month because currently I've no spare time to implement it.

Hi Theo

Thanks for that , I have tried putting two configs in the openhab.cfg but each time I add the 2nd one in the binding seems to throw an error, i guess it cant allow 2 configs for the same uid .

Is there any other way I can get this to work?

Many thanks

Hi Theo

Considering that all I now need is to control the direction of a dc motor , is there any other way that I can achieve this , maybe with stepper motor or a relay brick?

As I'm using openhab this will control the time of the motor run.

Just wondering if there is another solution to the problem.

Any info is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi Excal,

thanks for reminding me. I started some work on RED Brick topic. As soon as this work is finished I will continue working on the binding. You will have to be patient for some more weeks.

Regards,

Theo
