USB Kabel kürzen

Hi Leute,

 

ich möchte euer USB Kabel auf 15cm kürzen. Kann ich den Mantelwellenfilter (Ferrite bead) runtergeben, oder funktioniert dann die Kommunikation nicht mehr?

Hat sonst jemand Erfahrung beim Kürzen eines USB Kabels? Ich würde die einzelnen Kabeln einfach wieder zusammenlöten und mit einem Schrumpfschlauch isolieren.

    Also es geht auch ohne den Ferritkern. Aber wozu der Aufwand? Bei e b a y gibts das für unter 2,- inkl. Versand.

    Nun ja, der Ferritkern soll hochfrequente Störungen unterdrücken. Je länger das Kabel, desto eher ist es auch eine Antenne. Dein größtes Problem dürften in diesem Falle die Lötstellen sein.

    Kannst ja mal bei Wikipedia unter Ferritkern bzw. Mantelwellenfilter nachschauen.
