I have tried changing the autostart file as well as the xrandr command but nothing seems to work unless I dont have the correct parameters specified in my command. Thanks, Sam. To use xrandr is correct, but I'm not sure if it is possible to change the screen resolution to that value. I had three different embedded boards now and they all had a native resolution (which if 1920x1080 for the RED) and a very limited possibility to change the screen resolution.
