M4ST3R Posted April 24, 2012 at 10:00 PM Share Posted April 24, 2012 at 10:00 PM Hey together, in the german community some people think about a graphical based development software. We want to write it in Java. Maybe some of you want to join the programmer team if we really start the project. Would be nice to hear your opinions and thoughts about that. Cathodion Posted April 25, 2012 at 12:41 PM Share Posted April 25, 2012 at 12:41 PM Personally I think it's a lot of work, and I would rather see that effort go into developing new bricks or bricklets. I realize these require different skills, but still... If anyone could figure out how to connect an RFID reader to a brick, I would actually pay for that. M4ST3R Posted April 25, 2012 at 01:21 PM Author Share Posted April 25, 2012 at 01:21 PM Thats why the community wants to create that tool and not the guys from tinkerforge. They should focus on the bricks and bricklets like you said
CD108 Posted April 26, 2012 at 10:33 PM Share Posted April 26, 2012 at 10:33 PM Great idea guys, something with function blocks would be good for quickly creating projects. Unfortunately I'm not able to write java, but would love to see a development platform like this. I think it would open the Tinkerforge products to more people who aren't comfortable with coding. As with most products, the more people who own them, the better the development
FabianB Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:46 PM Share Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:46 PM Is someone interested in supporting this project? In the german board there are only M4ST3R and one more who are willing and able to realize this. But they need at least two supporters more. I think it would be sad if the project dies before it starts. In the german board there was the discussion if it could be a better way to realize this project with scratch: http://scratch.mit.edu/ Any comments to this?
